Earlier on Thursday, September 23, two commercial motorcyclists attacked two cops in the Ajao Estate area of Lagos state and a Superintendent of Police (SP) was shot to death.
As the policemen attempted to impound the motorcyclists, the motorcyclists attacked them. When the aggrieved motorcyclists mobilized and attacked the officers, the officers were able to seize some of the bikes for allegedly flouting the State Traffic Law.
The motorcyclists, who are mainly from Northern Nigeria, disarmed the SP and used his service firearm to shoot and kill him along Asa Afariogun Road by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). According to reports, the bikers continued their battle with police towards the station, where they are alleged to have shot two more officers and set a patrol van ablaze.
