A group of motorcycle operators protested opposite the Osogbo police station on Tuesday night over the shooting of another motorbike rider by a police officer.

Saheed Olabomi was shot by a policeman at popular Oke Onitea junction in Osogbo, according to eyewitnesses.

A medical team was rushed to Osun State University Teaching Hospital to treat the victim.

According to Mustapha Asiru, an eyewitness, the incident began with a confrontation between police officers and some tipper drivers.

After the crisis reached its climax, police started shooting and the bullet hit Olabomi.

“On one occasion, there was a fight between police officers and some drivers, which led to the police firing their weapons. “Olabomi was hit on the cheek and was on the ground for several minutes before we took him to the hospital.”

After hearing that the motorcyclist had died at the hospital, his colleagues protested.

According to the relatives of the victims, the victim is not dead and is doing well.

Some individuals misinformed people that the victim had died.

CP Wale Olokode, the Commissioner of Police for the state, told newsmen that the matter would be thoroughly investigated.
