Gunmen invaded Umulokpa Police Division in Enugu State’s Uzo-Uwani local government area, killing one officer and leaving another missing.
The incident depleted the division’s and damaged the CCTV facility as well as operating vehicles.
After the assault on Saturday, the 9th of October 2021, a female officer who has yet to be named was missing, according to the state police command, which was verified on Monday.
A full-scale inquiry has already been ordered by the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Abubakar Lawal, into the disappearance of an officer and the arrest of those responsible.
In a statement, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, a spokesperson for the Command, stated that CP Lawal had given the order when he went to the scene of the incident on Monday.
According to CP Abubakar Lawal, fdc, the Enugu State Command Commissioner of Police, the State CID and tactical teams of the Command have been ordered to intensify ongoing investigative efforts to locate a missing female personnel and to fish out the yet to be identified criminals, which in their numbers attacked and vandalized vehicles and other items at Umulokpa Police Divisional Headquarters in Uzo-Uwani LGA on the evening of 09/10/2021.
A team of senior police officers and commanders from the Command’s tactical/operational teams had just arrived when he issued the order.
For now, everyone has been urged to help the Command by providing reliable information and/or intelligence that would lead to finding the victims and arresting the attackers,” stated the statement.
