Aminu Bello Masari, the state’s governor, said President Muhammadu Buhari announced Friday that N6.25 billion would be allocated for ranching in the state.
According to him, Katsina State would lead the way in setting up ranches with the approval.
As stated in a statement released Friday by Garba Shehu, the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Masari spoke at the commissioning of the Zobe Regional Water scheme, which was completed after 29 years.
President Buhari, who released N5 billion to the state to start ranches, was appreciated by the governor for driving people-oriented development projects.
“Mr President has graciously approved a sum of N6.25 billion for ranch development purposes in Katsina State.
In addition to this amount, N5 billion has already been put into the state government’s account, and within a few weeks, you will see advertisements calling for interested companies and consultants to participate in the construction.
According to Governor Masari, the federal government has been focused on meeting the needs of the grassroots. The Zobe Regional Water Project is a partnership with a goal of providing over 50 million litres of water to communities.
He thanked the President for commissioning the water project and 50km Dutsinma-Tsaskiya road in Dutsin-ma Council.
