Senator Basheer Mohammed has been appointed Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, announced this in a statement on Thursday.
In addition, Shehu said the president approved some key changes to the Federal Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
According to Shehu, the measure was taken in order to achieve and sustain the government’s abiding desire for efficient and effective service delivery in both organizations.
According to the statement, Mrs. Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim who was until now Director General of NAPTIP will now take over Mohammed as the Honourable Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
Shehu added that the President further directed that the changes take effect after comprehensive handover notes have been provided to succeeding officials.
