Muhammadu Buhari will be in London until the second week of August. The presidential spokesman announced this in a statement on Monday.
The president will attend a summit in the United Kingdom before seeing his doctors, Adesina said.
‘President Muhammadu Buhari will travel to the United Kingdom on Monday, July 26, 2021, to participate in the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025.’
“The Summit, which will be co-hosted by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, will provide a platform for partners to chart a path forward toward transforming education systems in partner countries through the exchange of best practices.
“Leaders will also be able to pledge their support to GPE’s work to transform education systems in up to 90 countries and territories.
“The Summit will focus on: The Power of Education -A Conversation between Global Champions; Transforming Education for Girls; Financing for Impact and Recovery; and What Now? The priorities for transforming education in the next five years, among others.
President Buhari will also meet with Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
“Following the Summit, the President will undergo an earlier scheduled medical examination. By the second week of August, 2021, he should be back.”
Onyeama is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of State Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, and National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retired). Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.
Last week, Buhari was due in London for a medical checkup, but he postponed the trip for an undisclosed reason.
