Nigerian pastor Sunday Adediran, who was abducted on Nov. 13 in Calabar’s Ikot Eneobong neighborhood, has been freed.

A teacher who had been kidnapped with him was also freed.

Irene Ugbo, the state’s police public relations officer, verified the release on Monday, Nov. 15, in Calabar, according to the BBC.

By not naming the teacher who was freed, Ugbo asked the public to always provide relevant and timely information to enable authorities react effectively when such incidents occur.

She retorted: “Men of the Anti-kidnapping and Cultism Squad were ordered by Commissioner of the Police, Mr Aminu Alhassan, to promptly seek the release of the kidnapped children.

“Thanks to SP Awodi Abdulhameed and his Dragon squad, I can tell you that the victims have been taken care of, and I can assure you of that.

For the sake of public safety, I’m urging members of the public to report any unusual activity in their immediate surroundings as soon as they see it.
