An Appeal Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State’s capital, denied Uche Secondus’ plea to challenge the Peoples Democratic Party’s upcoming convention (PDP).
Secondus had petitioned the court in an appeal dated CA/PH/ 339 to prevent the PDP from holding its national convention on October 30 and 31, 2021.
Following his conflict with Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, the controversial former chairman was forced out.
Secondus had petitioned the court, via his lawyer, Tayo Oyetubo, to postpone the convention and provide him the opportunity to preside over the exercise.
However, on Friday, the court dismissed the Secondus appeal.
The verdict was unanimously upheld by all three judges, chaired by Justice Haruna Tsammani, with no opposing votes.
