Nwaoboshi decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He was welcomed into the ruling party by President Muhammadu Buhari at a reception Friday in Aso Rock.
Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President, presented Nwaoboshi, who represents Delta North District, Delta State, to Buhari and the National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).
Senator Nwaoboshi’s decision to join the APC showed that the CECPC’s efforts were bearing fruit, according to the Deputy Senate President.
Garba Shehu, a presidential media aide, said the Senator was warmly welcomed by party members.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, governors, and members of the caretaker committee were present.
The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, presented Buhari with a report of the Caretaker Committee.
