Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the Revolution Now Movement, has been released after being arrested at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday morning.
Sowore, who stormed the courtroom for the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was arrested after being prevented from entering the courtroom.
Around 10:30 am, Sahara Reporters Publishers notified his Whatsapp contacts about his arrest. According to the message;
"I was just arrested by the Nigerian Police at the Federal High Court. "Beatings by police officers and taken to a police station at the Federal Secretariat."
About 1.10 p.m., he shared the news of his release via Whatsapp. May 26 is Monday. The text read;
"I have been released."
