After a 1-1 tie with Ghana at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria’s Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In Kumasi, the Super Eagles were unable to upset the Black Stars, with the match ending 0-0. The visitors gained the lead in the return leg, which was played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, thanks to Thomas Partey.

After Francis Uzoho failed to stop the Arsenal midfielder’s long-range shot, it found its way into the net.

Nigeria, on the other hand, leveled the score after VAR awarded a penalty for a foul on Ademola Lookman. Captain William Troost-Ekong of the Super Eagles took the penalty kick and scored to tie the game at 1-1.

The Black Stars of Ghana qualified on away goals as a result of the match’s conclusion.
