At least ten bandits were killed as men of the Nigerian Police Force, Niger State Command, repelled an attack on Kundu, a community in Rafi Local Government Area of the state, on Sunday.
The process resulted in the deaths of two police officers, according to local residents.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello visited the community on Sunday to condole with the police officers and thank them for their sacrifice.
Mr. Bello reiterated the commitment of the state government to assisting the force in securing the State.
Assuring you that whatever you need to do your job more effectively, we will provide it, I would like to congratulate you for the excellent job you are doing.
He said, “I want you to be honest with me, and I will do everything I can to make sure you get what you need.”.
Furthermore, he announced that the state government had arranged for some equipment to combat insecurity, adding that the equipment would soon arrive and be handed over to the police in the state.
Additionally, the governor visited a military checkpoint at Zungeru cemetery.
Brigadier General Ademola Adedoja, the Brigade Commander, and the State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, accompanied the governor.
