On Friday, residents of Shanono in Kaduna’s Shanono Local Government Area discovered another Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
The device was discovered 24 hours after an IED was discovered in a bucket.
The state anti-bomb team detonated the device, which was discovered on Thursday, and no one was injured.
Children in the village discovered Friday’s object in a jerrycan covered in black nylon, according to a resident, Tijjani Umar.
It was close to a stream in the neighborhood, he claimed.
“It was kept in the same location where the IED was discovered on Thursday.” We have no idea what is going on in this neighborhood. “It was my elder brother’s wife who rushed to tell me that the kids had discovered another explosive inside Jerrycan,” he explained.
Security agencies were deployed in the region, according to Daily Trust.
ASP Mohammed Jalige, a spokesman for the State Police Command, confirmed the discovery, saying an anti-bomb squad team had been dispatched to the area.
“The area has been blocked off to safeguard the public while our officers detonate the device,” he said.
He advised residents to be more attentive in all parts of the state.
