Residents of the affected villages says that bandits are now raiding communities in Plateau State’s Kanam Local Government Area.
According to inhabitants in the affected regions, bandits raided the villages of Kukawa, Gyanbahu, Dungur, and Keram, killing a number of people.
Many individuals were hurt, and hundreds of people left their houses, according to Adam Musa, a resident of Kukawa village who corroborated the event. Security officers have yet to reach the communities.
According to Musa, gunmen attacked the villages in separate attacks about 11 a.m., when inhabitants were going about their daily routines, and began firing intermittently.
He said that the present bandits had set fire to a number of homes.
When approached about the development, ASP Ubah Gabriel, the State Police Command’s Spokesperson, promised to get back to our correspondent.
