It was feared that a large number of people were killed when Terrorist bandits opened fire on worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church on Owa-luwa Street in the Owo council area of the capital of Ondo State.

Funmi Odunlami, a spokesperson for the state police, stated that the command would comment on the heinous crime later.

According to him, gunmen entered the church during the service, opened fire, and killed at least 25 churchgoers.

The state police command had not yet responded to the murders in the old city.
