President Muhammadu Buhari has told the Nigerian Armed Forces to fight terrorists and wipe them off the face of the earth.

The president gave the order at the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State while speaking to military officers at the graduation ceremony of 247 students of the Senior Course 44 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC).

He said that the last 12 years have been very hard for Nigeria because of all the security problems that have been going on.

“Most of the world’s security problems are asymmetric and cross-border,” said the president. “They involve mostly non-state actors in different regions and sub-regions of the world.” Even our beloved continent of Africa, which includes the West African sub-region, is not safe from these dangers.

“Recent terrorist attacks in Nigeria have been caused by national and cross-border insurgents who want to cause trouble in Nigeria and the countries around it.

“It will be part of your job to go up against these terrorists and insurgents, kill them all, and bring peace to our countries.”

He promised that his government would keep giving the direction and help that were needed to get the results that were wanted.

“To fight these security threats effectively, African countries must continue to work together at all levels, including tactical, operational, and strategic. To this end, the ongoing cooperation of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger Republic, and Chad in a multinational operation to fight the Boko Haram Insurgency in the Lake Chad region has been productive, commendable, and successful.

“Understanding the doctrines of the forces that worked together must have made the synergy between them even better. Our government is ready to promote national security and development and to keep working toward a vision of a strong, safe, just, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria are working hard to improve their combat effectiveness, operational capability, and training in order to get rid of the threats, in cooperation with other institutions and countries. The Armed Forces of Nigeria have done a good job of dealing with things like the Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, militancy, kidnapping, and the actions of separatists and armed militias, among other things. “This government will continue to give the direction and help that are needed to get the results we want,” he said.
