A federal high court in Abuja has granted bail to former Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha in the amount of N500 million with one surety in the same amount.
The court stipulates that the surety must be a citizen of Nigeria, possess a landed property in Abuja, and deposit the original property documents with the court registry.
In addition, the registrar of the court will verify said property, and the defendant is prohibited from leaving the court’s jurisdiction without authorization.
The EFCC will submit the accused’s passport to the court registry.
The court registrar must notify the Nigerian Immigration service that the defendant’s passport is held by the court.
Mr. Okorocha is scheduled to attend the APC Presidential screening in Abuja’s Transcorp Hotels today.
