Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have pledged to kill additional lawmakers in Anambra State after killing Okechukwu Okoye and Cyril Chiegboka, who represented the Aguata II Constituency in the state house of assembly.
The prohibited group allegedly issued the warning in a note recovered at the location where the lawmaker’s skull was thrown.
A source who observed the note stated, “The letter is obscured by precipitation, but it began with the word ‘warning.'”
“Eventually, the phrase ‘wherever you go, you cannot hide’ appears. We will pursue you individually, as military and police are no longer our concern.”
Recent years have seen an increase in homicides and arson in the state.
Four local government centres and multiple police stations had been assaulted and destroyed across the state.
According to SHAUNTV NEWS, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo, has announced a N10 million reward for anyone or group with useful information leading to the arrest of the murderers.
On May 15, the representative for Soludo’s district and his assistant were kidnapped.
Saturday, however, his head was discovered in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State.
