His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi, the traditional ruler of Bukpe village in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been kidnapped.

Malam Jibrin D. Gimba, the monarch’s brother and the Chief Imam of the Community’s Central Mosque, verified this to Daily Trust.

He stated that the event occurred about 9:32 p.m. on Wednesday.

He claimed the monarch was taken away at gunpoint while sitting in front of his castle getting some fresh air.

“I was just walking inside my house after he left his castle when he stated he needed to shower and then relax in front of his palace to get some fresh air,” the brother explained.

“A few minutes later, I began to hear gunshots… I realized that the kidnappers had taken him away while I looked from my window.”

The abductors of the king, according to Gimba, have not made contact with the monarch’s relatives. This is the community’s third attack.

Several police officers visited the hamlet shortly after the kidnapping, he added, but then departed.

DSP Adeh Josephine, the FCT police command’s spokesman, has not responded to our correspondent’s enquiries as of the time of reporting this article.

Sympathizers were seen at the kidnapped traditional ruler’s palace on Thursday morning.
