Five people, including a vigilante, were slain along the Sabon Gari-Kampani Road in Plateau State’s Wase Local Government Area.
The victims were assassinated by local terrorist bandits.
According to Abdullahi Usman, a Wase town local, the vigilante and one other person were attacked, while the bandits killed the remaining three during a stop-and-search operation.
Usman stated that the event resulted in the kidnapping of more than 20 individuals.
“The vigilante and one other person were riding a motorbike from Sabon-Gari to Kampani when they were assaulted by bandits,” he explained. They assassinated them and fled on the motorbike.
“Subsequently, as the villagers returned home after market hours, they were apprehended and abducted. Three of them have been assassinated.”
