Matt Hancock, Britain’s health secretary, faced more questions about his judgment on Friday after pictures of him kissing and embracing an aide he hired last year were splashed across the front page of the Sun newspaper.
Hancock, who faced criticism for how he handled the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, was found to have violated the law by failing to reveal details of contracts signed during the health crisis in February.
According to the opposition Labour Party, the award of millions of pounds worth of contracts related to the pandemic was cronyism by the government.
Labor spokesperson said that ministers have the right to a private life, just like everyone else.
But when taxpayer money is involved or jobs are being offered to close friends of a minister, then this needs to be investigated.”
Rupert Murdoch’s Sun tabloid reported that the picture of Hancock and his aide was taken last month. The image could not be independently verified by Shauntv.
