Former British member of parliament Imran Ahmad Khan was sentenced to 18 months in prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy at Southwark Crown Court.
Khan, a legislator from the Conservative Party of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, resigned as a member of parliament last month after he was convicted of beating the kid at a house in 2008. He had denied the charge.
Khan has represented the northern English region of Wakefield. On June 23, his replacement will be elected.
Khan, 48, stated that he was “withdrawing from political life” as he announced his decision to give up his 2019-elected parliamentary seat.
