Former US President Donald Trump has reportedly called for civil war in the United States as the nation faces inflation, COVID, and Russian and Chinese military threats.

On Sunday, May 22, Trump re-posted a message on his social media programme ‘Truth Social’ that appeared to forecast or imply an American civil war.

Trump retweeted a recommendation from “MAGA King Thanos” on Truth Social, who commented on a screenshot of a tweet from El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele.

Bukele added in the tweet, “The most powerful country in the world is sinking so rapidly that it makes you question what the true causes are. Such a large and strong object cannot be destroyed so rapidly unless the opponent is within.

Bukele’s comments were in reaction to a Bloomberg tweet about coping with inflation in the United States for those earning less than $300,000 annually.

The re-shared article included the Truth Social user’s response to Bukele’s tweet, which read “Civil war.”

The husband of former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway, conservative political activist George Conway, shared Trump’s repost.

“There is nothing to see. A past U.S. president publishing a social media post supporting or forecasting civil war in the United States. No biggie, “He sent a tweet.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, one of Trump’s most ardent opponents within the GOP, also condemned Trump’s remark.

“Would any of my fellow Republicans like to talk now?” Kinzinger tweeted. “Or are we simply wishing to get through ‘just one more election’ before anything else?”
