Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) headquarters in Ubakala, Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, has been attacked by gunmen believed to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The NIS headquarters in the state is located a few kilometres away from a Police formation in Ubakala, which was previously attacked and two Policemen died as a result.
According to our correspondent, they bombed the NIS building and opened fire on NIS officers, killing many of them.
On Saturday, gunmen attacked the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Umuagu, Umuahia.
Over 50 gunmen were half-naked.
Several of them were armed with AK47s which they hung around their necks.
During the attack, they set fire to the security formation.
It was not possible to confirm the incidents from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the State command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, since he did not pick up the phone when called.
