The University of Lagos Mass Communication Department’s senior lecturer, Bunmi Ajibade, has made some inquiries about alleged murder suspect Chidinma Ojukwu.
Ojukwu is being held at the headquarters of the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja in relation to the murder of Usifo Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV.
On June 16, Ataga’s lifeless body was discovered in a flat in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, with multiple wounds.
After he was murdered, N5 million was said to have been withdrawn from his account.
According to reports, the suspect fled the scene after committing the crime.
After news of the incident went viral, Ajibade circulated a WhatsApp message saying Ojukwu’s parents ought to have monitored her.
Our children should be monitored and prayed for. There is so much evil happening in tertiary institutions right now. “Drugs, alcohol, and s*x have become the norm among adolescents.”
“As Coordinator of the Part Time Programme, I conducted some investigations about the lady. She was last at school before Covid-19 lockdown. She has never taken a 300 Level exam with her cohorts.
Since the beginning of this semester early last month, she has never set foot on the UNILAG campus. Yet, she was arrested at her father’s house.
Are the parents sensitive enough to discover her truancy in school? If they suspected something was wrong, did they monitor her school progress? Why were they neglected to the point that this calamity suddenly struck? There are many questions begging for answers.”
