Russian soldiers are targeting populous areas in Ukraine, according to British military intelligence, but the strength of the Ukrainian opposition is limiting their approach.
In a recent briefing, British military intelligence stated, “The extent and strength of Ukrainian resistance continue to surprise Russia.” “Russia has retaliated by hitting inhabited areas in a number of cities, including Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Mariupol,” says the statement.
“Russia has previously employed similar techniques, deploying both air and ground-based bombs, in Chechnya in 1999 and Syria in 2016,” according to British military intelligence.
Russia has denied that it is targeting civilian areas on several occasions.
