Wednesday night, Papua New Guinea’s Deputy Prime Minister Sam Basil was killed in a car accident, according to authorities.
Basil and three other injured people were promptly rescued from the accident site, and the deputy prime minister was sent to a hospital where he was confirmed dead on Thursday, according to a police statement.
