According to the United Nations Human Rights Office (OHCHR), at least 816 civilians have been murdered and 1,333 have been injured in Ukraine as of March 17.

According to the OHCHR, the majority of the casualties were caused by explosive weapons such as heavy artillery shelling and multiple-launch rocket systems, as well as missile and air strikes.

The true toll is expected to be far higher because OHCHR, which has a substantial monitoring team in the nation, has yet to verify casualty reports from hard-hit cities like Mariupol.
