Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, said Nigeria is fortunate to have Buhari at the moment. The monarch said Buhari has done well when he visited him at his palace in Katsina on Friday.
We are very proud of your good character and your visit to Daura reflects that. Men, women, children, marketers, and artisans are always delighted to welcome you and will pray for you.
“Today is not a day for speeches, but for appreciation. Since you are the leader of the country, we have been so blessed as a community. We are proud of you for bringing honor to our domain.
As a community, we have benefited greatly with the increased traffic of people and organizations coming to help us here. It’s all thanks to you.
“May your good Lord always go before you and behind you, and may he remove all obstacles from your path.”.
Nigeria is fortunate to have you at this time. It would have been very difficult if you had not been in power. “I doubt we will be here today,” he said.
The president said earlier that he would have loved to visit his hometown more frequently but for the high cost of presidential travel.
“We are known for farming here, and I have my own farm. No one can stop me from coming every two weeks. “But the movement has a high price,” he said.
The President, who recalled fond memories of visiting the Palace as a military Head of State, expressed satisfaction that the warmth and hospitality of the institution had been maintained over decades.
